Adoption & Kinship

Adoptions come many shapes and sizes.

Parents may commit to an open or closed adoption and may or may not want an opportunity to create a future contact agreement.

 

Birth parents may choose to create a formal agreement with adoptive parents that highlight areas of importance as to how a child or children are raised.

 

Kinship agreements may allow children can be placed in the home of an approved kin that may be shared with family members. The roles and responsibilities are outlined in a mutual agreement. Kinship is any living arrangement in which a relative of someone
who is emotionally close to a child or children that takes primary responsibility in parenting. This can be a grandparent, aunt, uncle, etc.
